Computing Curricula

Well, my little brother was searching his own path study at college. He asks me about several things in engineering. Last time, the topic was ‘Computer’ and ‘Informatics’.

This afternoon, one of my friends at work has the same question regarding his plan for continuing study. So here it is. 5 major study areas that ‘seems look familiar but not exactly same’. Hope you’ll find it useful. ^_^

Computer

3. Information System (IS) (Jurusan Sistem Informasi atau Manajemen Informatika) diharapkan menghasilkan lulusan yag mampu menganalisa kebutuhan (requirement) dan proses bisnis (business process), serta mendesain sistem berdasarkan tujuan dari organisasi
4. Information Technology (IT) diharapkan menghasilkan lulusan yang mampu bekerja secara efektif dalam merencanakan, mengimplementasikan, mengkonfigurasi dan memaintain infrastruktur teknologi informasi dalam organisasi.
5. Software Engineering (SE) diharapkan menghasilkan lulusan yang mampu mengelola aktifitas pengembangan software berskala besar dalam tiap tahapannya (software development life cycle).

You ‘ll find the source here for the rest article. Hwoww„ its not in English! LOL, because I want to make it easier to read for my lil brother :) You can find many description for that in English-way by ask to Mr. Google, rite?

Keep going searching match subject not only by its value, or its good-matter future, but ask to your own personality. Are u really into it? Do you like something analytic, theory-like or maybe by visualize it or by example-like? Its really important for you to understand yourself, before you’re planning something for your life.

That’s all from me, may God lead you into better way, and Gud Luck!!

You can’t make any decisions because you don’t know what you want. And you don’t know what you want because you don’t know who you are. And you don’t know who you are because you’re allowed to be anyone you want. How messed up is that?

Embracing My Quarter-Life Crisis part1

qlc

Its been a long time didn’t make posts or shares something here. There are several changes in my life, that MAYBE I should be proud of. (Its not kind of narsicsm, I swear, but its such as achievement, one step toward for my futuristic dream of life. Haha. Thats it.)

1. Finally, I finished my study, get that Engineering Degree. I’m no longer must be a student at night mode and a worker at day mode. Enough for that shift part in my life. HORAAAAY.. But, I kind of missed it, sometimes..

2. I’ve been living alone, rented a room, since I was finishing my final project. Such as quiet and comfort place. I can hear the leaves of trees whispering around, the birds singing, the cricket buzzing. The lovely part about this place (yeah, I am at my room while I writing this) is when I look outside my windows, I could see the tree tops and cloudy skies. But, hard to accept that the location was surrounded by cemetery, yes. graveyard. oh, and also a little polluted river besides. Basiclly, I am not living really alone, I’ve with Taro, my rabbit here. So I feel didn’t lonely at all. One of the other great things, I was far away from telenovela, I don’t have any television here. Not problem, I’ve got internet modem, laptop, mp3 player, radio, and books.

3. I’ve started not really enjoying my whole day activities since I finished my study at college. And thats giving me problem in my life„umm, have I told you that I am 24 years old now?So I think this is the time, when I must embracing my quarter-life crisis.

quarter life crisis

Since I love to research and discover things, I asked Mr. Google to give me any information about this symptoms. First questions is “WHY”, why I felt or became like this. Second is “WHAT”, what exactly I have to do, what I wanted, what I needed, etc. To make it simple, remember the first time when you learn something in your life?such as English language maybe? You would face “5W+1H”.

Why, What, When, Where, Who, How

All that question attacking your mind!!

So, are you in a rut? Is it time to take life into your own hands? Are you ready take a time out to find yourself? It may be your quarter-life crisis knocking there.

In a study presented at the British Psychological Society , researchers distilled the five key phases of the quarter-life crisis (via New Scientist) from a survey of 50 volunteers who’d had them:

Phase 1 – A feeling of being trapped by your life choices. Feeling as though you are living your life on autopilot.
Phase 2 – A rising sense of “I’ve got to get out” and the feeling that you can change your life.
Phase 3 – Quitting the job or relationship or whatever else is making you feel trapped and embarking on a “time out” period where you try out new experiences to find out who you want to be.
Phase 4 – Rebuilding your life.
Phase 5 – Developing new commitments more attuned to your interests and aspirations.

It’s like anxiety, stress, and hopelessness all rolled together into an intense ball of panic.  It usually happens after college when we have to choose a career path for the rest of your life.

Wow..  Yes, I think I felt that, and I’m kind in phase 1-phase2- and also I felt like wanna quitting my job lately, because it was really lacking my expectation :( Honestly, I love being at this currently work place except my job now. The purposes, vision, mission, is very GREAT. There is several person as my bosses that I liked and I admired very much. But its just such a pain, when you’re ready and offer yourself but someone out there giving and thinking what ARE you and maybe thinking that I like it. Oh no, only me who knows what I like, and please, I want experience. I want to take risk, learn, get up and down. I wanted to be..ALIVE…

One article that I read was saying that ” Having a quarter-life crisis may be a good thing: 80% of the respondents said that the experience turned out to be positive. ” (I wish) And having your crisis early might keep you from having one when you turn fifty, after the rift between what you always wanted to do (be a chef! Write a novel!) and what you wound up doing (tax law! Wealth management!) has grown far vaster, researchers suggest. “

And at last paragraph it said ” The researchers say that idealists who also want to achieve conventional success—marriage, children, corner office—seem to be the population most affected. So examine thyself. Is a crisis in order? ” (Well, is there anyone who didn’t want to be succeed? Not suprising me, I knew I am the idealist person at the very beginning. Ha.)

So? I hope it’ll turn to be all right. Please„ please..God..

NB:

I really didn’t like  ‘crisis’ term..  may I change it into ‘alarm’? So the sound will be “Embracing My Quarter-Crisis Life Alarm, I guess.
